How Can Spondylitis, Focal Right Subarticular Disc Protrusion,severe Degenerate Facet Arthropathy And Ligamentum Flavum Hypertrophy Be Treated?
62 yo male, l5-s1 severe spinal canal and severe bilateral subarticular recess stenosis due to spondylitis, focal right subarticular disc protrusion,severe degenerate facet arthropathy and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy as well as a 5x2 mm left sided intraspinal synovial cyst. Moderate to severe bilateral fora I also stenosis more pronounced on left. Mild left fora I also disc protrusion. Probable bilateral L5 pars interarticulatis defects. Defect seen involving right S1 Latina which could relate to chronic fracture or atypical pars defect involving S1. Looking for surgery recommendation

The MRI report shows stenosis or narrowing of the spinal canal at the level of L5-S1. There is intervertebral disc protrusion at this level. The protruded disc can lead to compression of the spinal nerves emanating from the spinal cord.
Painkillers will help to an extent for the pain. However, surgery is a definitive treatment.
