How Can Strep Throat While Suffering From Quadriplegia Be Treated?
My husband is a quadriplegic. He was diagnosed with klebsella in the lungs, severe dehydration & sepsis. Am administering fluids, cipro & antibiotics, yet on top of it all, he picked up strep throat from his parents. How can I help him with all of the above?
Your husband has history of Quadriplegia & now he is being treated for Klebsiella infection. He does need antibiotic injections & intravenous fluids. The bacteria manifests with symptoms like sore throat, cough, trouble breathing, chest pain, etc.
It may cause pneumonia, Klebsiella infections can be dangerous let your husband stay in the hospital; he may need higher antibiotics like Cefotaxime, Ceftriaxone, etc. Get him investigated & treated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
