Hello ! I can totally understand your pain and am sorry to know about what you underwent . My first advice for you would be to not lose heart and hope . Recovery after a
stroke depends on many factors like the amount of
brain damage and the physical implications after that , on how soon you start
rehabilitation , on how diligently you do your exercises and last but not the least how positive you stay!! Please don't wait for a day when you will be ''normal'' , just keep working towards it and do not quit !
Rehabilitation and recovery after a stroke could be very promising . Regular and rigorous movement therapy , in the form of guided ( passive movements and active assisted or active movements ) , gait training ,
hydrotherapy where possible ,
speech therapy ( part of
occupational therapy ) is the treatment that is generally done post a stroke. As you progress physically , your physiotherapist will guide you through more and more complex activities , for improving body balance and coordination and try to get to as near normal as possible.
After stroke , it all about '' re- learning '' the lost functions , just like you would teach a small child . Do not fret over what is lost , work to gain back what you've lost !
Start reading and scribbling , helping with simple household chores , try do as many things by yourself as possible ( all of this of course within your physical limitations and if medically permitted , the more you move , the better for you )
You are very young , so age is on your side and your chances of recovery should generally be good. You could also look out for a neuro physiotherapist , who is specialised in all sorts of similar neurological cases and special neuro rehabilitation centres if available in your area .
Also make sure you keep you weight under control , as with limited mobility , chances are you will put on weight quickly . You might want to meet a dietician to help you with it . Wish you all the best and hope you reach your best soon ! Keep trying , don't Quit !
