Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Tenderness And Bruising On The Foot Be Managed?
I had something fall on the top of my foot about 3 weeks ago. It immediately bruised and was swollen for several days. Maybe a week. I went to urgent care and was told it was not broken. Although the bruising is gone it is still slightly tender on the top. And now it feels like a rubber band is stretching when I move my foot. Flex it and i flex it. Strange I know. It’s akmost like something is moving around in there. Should I go back for a second look?0
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. You have not mentioned that wether you got a X Ray of the foot or not. If not you should get it done as it will confirm whether you have a fracture or not. I would advise you till then to immobilize that foot with the help of an elastic bandage. Avoid bearing weight on that foot. For pain relief you can take an over the counter painkiller like aceclofenac. Get your foot examined by an orthopaedic. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
