Hello I was wondering how you can calculate your conception day if the last time you had sexual intercourse was may 5th 2009, If I am pregnant how many weeks would I be now and what would be my due date. I have my period from time to time so I canĂ¢??t really go by the last menstrual period to be able to calculate
If the pregnancy has resulted from a single intercourse on May 5, then the day of ovulation is that day + or - 3 days. Accordingly you may calculate the period of your gestation.
Since your menstrual periods are irregular, you cannot calculate the due date of delivery based on date of last menstrual period. So you have following options:
1. Count 266 days from May 5; i.e. the day of conception (9 months - 7 days). That would be your probable due date of delivery.
2. Submit yourself for ultrasonography. It will estimate the period of pregnancy and due date of delivery based on the size of the embryo.
Of course, both the methods have some element of variation - about a week or so. Moreover, delivery 3 weeks before and 1 week after the due date of delivery is considered as delivery of a fully matured baby.
I hope this resolves your dilemma.
