How Can Tonsillitis Along With Body Ache Be Treated?
Hi I live on the beach in Perdido Key, Fl. I went to an urgent care this afternoon and I have a very bad case of Tonsillitis. It hurts to swallow and I have a low grade fever. I m a 51 female and in good shape. I do have MVP, and hypothyroidism. The doctor gave me Augmentin 875/125 twice a day, and Ninjacof liquid 5 ml four times a day. My ENT and my GP doctor always gives me a antibiotic and Hydromet. That s all I ve ever taken. I cant take NSAIDs, or codiene. I don t take any over the counter drugs except the blue Mucnex. What can you tell me about the Ninjacof or should I wait and get a prescription for hydromet? That s all my doctor ever prescribed me. I don t understand why the doctor didn t give it to me unless he doesn t use this drug. My body aches, and my throat he knows is very painful. Would should I do and is this cough medicine Ninjacof safe! Thank you, A,Onassis

I have not prescribed this Ninjacof medicine but I do know what it is (Pyrilamine-Chlophedianol). This is a safe medicine and is much safer than Hydromet syrup.
Hydromet contains hydrocodone which is an opiate. This is only used in very severe cases of cough that will not go away with over the counter or less strong medications. It is not a safe medicine to constantly use.
Many drug seekers also try to ask the doctor for this medication so that might play a role why he did not want to prescribe it as he doesn't know you personally.
