Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Toothache And Pain In The Temple Be Treated?
I have really bad pain in my teeth and temple. I also feel pressure. (All on the left side) I was given amoxicillin 875 mg twice daily for 10 days 8 days ago for sinus infection. Two days ago I thought things were finally getting better but the pain is back. When all this started a few weeks ago I did have blood in my mucus but now very little. The thing is I haven’t been congested much at all since this started and have not had a cold. My nose gets a little runny here and there but I can breathe through my nose just fine. The pain is pretty bad though... could this be something else? Also.... no localized tooth pain; I have pushed on all of them and no pain in doing that so I’m pretty sure it’s not tooth related.
The pain in the tooth and temple-related as any toothache can cause referred pain on the same side. Sinusitis can also cause pressure like feel or heaviness on the affected side. Since you have already started on antibiotics and the pain has still not subsided I would like to you visit a general physician and get some radiographs done so as to rule out any problems related to the sinus. Or you could visit an oral medicine and radiologist for the same so that the tooth related problem and the sinus related problem can be ruled out together. Meanwhile, I would like to suggest you take steam without adding anything in it for at least two times a day to look for respite.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shilpi Sharma
