Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 53, never had children. I have had Uterine Fibroids for years and the doctor keeps telling me they will go away when I have menopause which has not happened yet. In June 2017 I had a pelvic ultrasound to check on the fibroids - they have increased in size and I had two ovarian cysts one on each side. We did an endometrial biopsy which came back normal. Last week I had my follow up pelvic ultrasound. The fibroids have not changed and the ovarian cysts are still there but they have reduced in size. What do I do at this point? What questions should I ask my doctor. Thank you.

The treatment consists in: -Medication which target hormones that regulate your menstrual cycle, treating symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pressure. -If the symptoms are not maintained under control they can be treated through mini invasive procedures such as uterine artery embolization.
