How Can Uvula Deviation Be Treated?

my grandson age 3 has had a deviated uvula since birth. he has chronic ear infections and his ears almost always drain a thick light yellow to dark peasoup colored drainage. he is autistic so it s difficult to assess his accurate pain level, as he is also nonverbal except for yelling and random babbling. He has had 4 sets of tubes placed in his ears in the last 2 yrs or so. we have taken him to numerous doctors but we have gotten no straight answers about fixing his uvula to stop these infections and help with his speaking. he started school last week and has already missed because of his ears draining purulent, foul smelling drainage... plz give me some advice. my grandson acts out in anger when he hurts, so I know he is hurting. there has to be something to help him. thanks in advance for any and all information.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The cause of uvula deviation is the cranial nerve related abnormality.

The diagnosis of the cause of the deviation is essential, rather than fixing it without knowing its reason.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
