How Can Vaginal Bleeding After An Abortion Be Stopped?
Two weeks ago I have an abortion of a gestational less than five weeks. Doctor suggested me to take familon tablets for six months. After two weeks slight bleeding is continuously going on.As such doctor prescribed to take pause 500 for two days three in each day.Pls suggest for betterment and remedy and inform me if there may be any problem.
Usually following early abortion, bleeding can occur up to 2 weeks. Also your Doctor started you on familon tablets, which is a birth control pill for 6 months, you can expect the side effects of pills too. It includes, spotting in between periods, breast swelling or tenderness, weight gain, stomach upset and nausea, mood swings and headaches.
Usually, these side effects will reduce within few months of taking tablets. If still persists, consult your near by gynaecologist for help. I advice you to: - Do an USG pelvis to rule out retained products post abortion if any. - Continue pause 500 on the day of heavy bleeding.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards, Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician
