How Could My Husbands Blood Pressure Be Controlled ?
My husband has a history of heart disease (had bypass last year), depression , diabetes , parkinson s, and more. I just took his blood pressureand it was 79/55. He has always had low blood pressure until recently and it has been running high without medication - under control with meds. He is normally in the 105/75 range. Should we consider visiting the ER?
Hi,
Thanks for query,
Blood pressure of your husband remains 105/75,and now all of a sudden it is 79/55.and he had bypass history.
It is unusual so better visit ER as soon as possible.
Ok and bye.
The BP indicated is definitely low and necessitates urgent evaluation. The antihypertensive medicines may need to be optimized, fluids may need to be given, plus also a re-evaluation of the pumping efficiency of the heart. Also, since he is a diabetic, autonomic function tests may be needed. BP may also be rechecked in lying down, sitting and standing positions........
