How Dangerous Can Pneumonia Get,for Someone Whose Cancerous Kidney Was Removed?
a friend of mine has been dealing with pneumonia since before christmas, is not on a second round of antibiotics, he is 65 years old, he had a kidney removed 2 years ago, due to a cancerous tumor. How dangerous can this pneumonia get? It is really wearing him down
Hello As you mentioned that there is pneumonia but its since 4 months . This is the cause of concern that so long time has passed. Even your friend is an old patient of kidneytumor ( operated ) . If pneumonia don't treated it lower the immunity in an individual and aggravate the condition further . In my opinion this is not a good sign. Get in MRI and consult a pulmonologist for secondaries in lungs ( as your friend was a patient of cancer) . This pneumonia ( untreated and unresolved ) may be due to secondaries , I doubt. Good luck.
