How Dangerous Is Anesthesia Aspiration Pneumonia Following Routine Colonoscopy?
I got anesthesia aspiration pneumonia following routine colonoscopy. How dangerous was this? Should discharge after colonoscopy have informed me of risk. They noted coughing during procedure and in recovery. What is my risk of that happening again during some other procedure?
Aspiration pneumonia needs to be evaluated if still have persistant cough or fever as it may require treatment. If you had not been fasting for atleast 8 hours prior to anaesthesia then it might be the cause. Reccurence may not be there unless there was any other specific cause.
