Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have Multiple Sclerosis, have had 2 transphenoidal pituitary lesion resections, a crainiotomy to resect ameningioma, have another pituitary lesion growing and I have secondary hypothyroidism. With that background, should I be concerned about 40/90 blood pressure?
A blood pressure of 90/40 is quite low, and so I would be concerned, regardless of your medical history. It may be from dehydration, a heart problem, or from infection, and some of these causes can be life-threatening. I would recommend that you be seen as soon as possible to determine what the cause of this low blood pressure is.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
