How Does Cervical Suturing Help During Pregnancy?

In first pregnancy , and delivery after two months we came to that my sister was suffering from heart problem, because of pregnancy.It was treated and docter told she can had pregnancy after 4 years. Now after 4 years she is pregnant .Doctor advised her alganest200 and fertigyn HP 5000 injection.Now she advised her for stitches .Her L M P date is 23 march 2015. I want to know ,if there any problem happens now .why stitches will be given .please explain I am very much worried about her.

Hi i did review your concern.
Cervical suturing is a common procedure done to females with previous history of 2nd trimester abortions or abortions that occur due to cervical canal problems
Many times the cervical canal is abnormal in the sense that it does not close completely.This opens a risk of spontaneous expulsion of the baby as it gains weight in 2nd trimester. SO many doctors do a precautionary cervical encirclage surgery also known as suturing to close the canal and prevent miscarriage in 2nd term.
