Hi i did review your concern. Cervical suturing is a common procedure done to females with previous history of 2nd trimester abortions or abortions that occur due to cervical canal problems Many times the cervical canal is abnormal in the sense that it does not close completely. This opens a risk of spontaneous expulsion of the baby as it gains weight in 2nd trimester. SO many doctors do a precautionary cervical encirclage surgery also known as suturing to close the canal and prevent miscarriage in 2nd term. I hope this helps Wish you all the best Thank you for using healthcare magic.
