General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you had no side effects when you took the first shot of rabies vaccine, then there is no problem in taking the booster dose. But if you had some adverse reactions or side effects after taking the first shot of rabies vaccine then you should inform the doctor.

Ideally, no serious side effects are common but sometimes people do suffer from life threatening allergic reactions ( trouble in swallowing, difficulty in speaking, problem with balance, weakness in the limbs , etc). In such case you ca avoid taking the booster dose.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
