How is REM sleep behaviour disorder treated? I have been tested at a Sleep Clinic here in Montreal and I do not have any form of Sleep Apnea. I also had some degree of Restless Leg Disorder but this condition seems to be under control most of the time. I still get a little agitated some times, but I am able to control the restlessness more often than not. The REM sleep disorder is still a HUGE problem. I have been going to this Sleep Clinic since 2007, and the treating physician has tried implimenting many different prescriptions over the years in his effort to control my sleep disorder. Todate he has not succeeded and says that there is nothing else he can do. Do you agree? Can you make any suggestions that I may be able to follow up with my physician? My doctor at this Sleep Clinic is a Pulmonoligist by training, but I am wondering if there is such a field in medicine as a physician that only specializes in REM sleep behaviour disorder. Does this type of physician exist? If so, how do I go about to try and find this type of physician? Enclosed is a list of medications that my doctor has tried over the past 7 years: Clonazepam, 0.5mg, x 1 tab/night, Pramipexole, 1.5mg. x 2 tabs/night, and Zopiclone, 7.5mg. x 1 tab/night, Your comments would be welcomed. Thank you. Murray F.
