A ministroke is a term used to describe what is generally referred to by doctors as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). However, in this type of condition all neurological conditions should completely resolve within a short period of time from onset (60 min. or less) AND there should be no evidence of permanent neurological deficit either by examination or by imaging studies. Therefore, for your sister to have truly a MINI-stroke and not a stroke she would've needed to completely her symptoms of numbness over the right side of her body within about one hour AND her neurological and imaging examination of the brain would've had to be completely clean and without evidence of permanent alteration. If you are saying she is not the same person I don't know whether that could possibly refer to a psychological issue that occurred resulting from the experience of the hospitalization and sudden problem of numbness over the right body or if that may represent an alteration of the brain itself after having experienced an actual STROKE. You may wish to seek a 2nd opinion with an MRI of the brain in order to answer that question.

Much luck to your sister.
