Goodmorning! I have PCO syndrom and have been treated for about 6 months with Yasmin pills and half of Metformin every day after lunch. The last time I visited my MD he told me to stop taking Yasmin and continue with metformin half and to visit him 6 months later. Now I will be on vacation for about 7 months and Ive got a question, how long should I continue taking metformin? How will my treatment be continued after 6 months? Thanks doctor, All the best,

How Long Can Metformin Be Taken?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You need to take metformine for PCOS as far as you are overweight or have insulin resistance, there us no limit for it. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
