How Long Does Marijuana Stay In The System?

I am an infrequent user of marijuana. Maybe only smoke once a week (if that) and usually between 3-5 small hits (if that). The last time I smoked was, best guess, 7 days ago but no less than that. I took a home test kit about 5 days after my last smoke and it came up negative. I drank a lot of water and 32oz of Gatorade after taking the test and the following day. I drank about 16oz more of Gatorade and more water (about 24oz) on the 6th day. Today (day 7) I had to take a urine test for a job. I drank about 50oz of water over the course of 6 hours in addition to 20oz of tea prior to the test. I am paranoid that I will not pass the test. I weigh 135lbs and am 5 6. As I said, I smoke once a week if that. Could I still test positive for THC?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you had marijuana a week ago, detection of marijuana depends on many factors such as drug potency, tolerance, fluid intake at time of test, method and frequency of marijuana use and body metabolism.As for being detectable in a drug test, well this depends on the type of drug test. Urine test will detect up to a month prior but a blood test will show positive you had marijuana in the last 6 months. Marijuana usually detected in urine up to 48 to 72 hours. If you have not taken it since 1 week then it is less likely that it will detect in body.Marijuana metabolites are stored in fat tissue so those users who are overweight will probably take longer to clear the drug. So you need not to worry about anything. Your test will be okay.
