Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was out on Friday night and was pressured to take a hit of a thc oil pen by some friends, so I took a pull and didn t inhale and blew the vapors out, today, Wednesday, 4 days later I took an oral swab drug test that will be tested by a lab. I brushed my teeth and too of my tongue 20 min before the test was administered What is the likelihood I will test positive for marijuana?
Marijuana (cannabis or weed) is usually detectable in body fluids for 1 to 30 days after last use. It may be detectable in hair for several months. Detection depends on how much you smoke or ingest, as well as how frequently. In general, higher doses and more frequent use are associated with longer detection times.
Drug tests measure marijuana and its by-products (metabolites). These metabolites remain in your system long after marijuana's effects have worn off.
Marijuana can enter the saliva through smoking and exposure to smoke. It is detectable in saliva for the following amounts of time after last use:(a) Occasional users: 1 to 3 days
(b) Chronic users: 1 to 29 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
