How Long Does Xanax Take To Show Effect?

Hi, I smoked a bit of ice last night, it wasn t much only 0.01 of a gram. (1point) I had spaced it out and made it last the duration of the night so my last smoke I had was about 3-4hrs ago. I just took 0.75mg of Xanax halfa an hr ago. Still not feeling the effects fully but I m hoping that would be enough to get me to sleep?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Xanax generally should show its effect within one hour. You have had it only for half an hour now so very likely you should feel the effect within the next half an hour.

On the other hand, please be reminded that Xanax is addictive, meaning if it is used regularly or longer than a week, you may get addictive to it so it might not be advisable to use it only today.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
