Yes, I have just been diagnosed with e-coli from a pap smear. I will begin antibiotics today. How long will this to take clear up? Can I transmit this to my husband during sex? Regular intercourse...not sure how this happened??? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Brief answer, Treatment of E.coli is entirely depends on how you get back your lactobacilli more in vagina.
Detailed explanation, 1. I read your query and I am happy to help you. You mentioned that you had E.coli positive pap smear test. 2. E.coli is generally present in gut and the vagina is close to the gut it's common in female to get vagina to be infected more if they don't have enough lactobacilli to kill E.coli . 3. Yes E.coli can be transmitted from you to your husband when both are in sexual intercourse. 4. I suggest you to take complete medication course before involving in intercourse. 5. Kindly check that your husband semen or urine with E.coli positive or not. 6. E.coli treatment depends on completely how your body respond to antibiotics and how fast your lactobacilli grow back again to fight back E.coli in vagina
