How Long Does A Perforated Eardrum Take To Heal?

I have had a viral infection (swollen glands, sore throat etc). Today the right side of my neck and ear was very sore. I visited the GP who confirmed perforated ear drum. I have been given antibiotics. How long does the bleeding last as when I sit up straight my ear feels completely blocked. The pain is intense too

Hi,
the symptoms that arise are due to the pessure building up in the middle ear due infection and fluid accumulation.It takes a minimum of 2 weeks for the pain to come down and ear to get healed from the infection.Pain killers might be of some help along with some decongestants which reduce fluid accumulation within the middle ear.
