How Long Does It Take For A Perforated Eardrum To Heal?

Good day! I have perforated eardrum and my ENT recommend me to take some antibiotics and ear drops (Ofloxacin -Inoflox). After a week, my ear felt so itchy then my ENT found out that I was having fungal ear infection. He then recommend me anti-fungal medicine (Mycozole -Fluconazole) and anti-fungal topical solution (Candibec - Clotrimazole) as well as the (Ofloxacin - Inoflox). But then, my ENT didn t told me how to use the two solution. What can I use first, the antifungal (Candibec - Clotrimazole) or the antibacterial (Ofloxacin - Inoflox)? And how long does a perforated eardrum would be heal? Thank You.. I hope for your response..

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Having infection of the ear with bacterial and fungal could take a little longer for the perforated ear drum to heal.
You need to use first antibiotic drops and followed by antifungal drops after about 30 minutes. You can use it twice or thrice daily, as recommended.
Healing perforated ear drum would take about 4 to 6 weeks normally.
However, you need to take care to keep the ear clean and dry, which would help in healing faster and better.
Kindly follow the advise as given by your doctor and do necessary follow-up.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
