How Long Does It Take To Cure Ringworm Infection On Scalp, Neck And Shoulders?

I got a really bad ringworm infection from a hotel a couple weeks ago. It s on my scalp, neck, shoulders, and down my back. My doctor prescribed me an oral antifungal and I ve been applying tea tree oil and lavender oil throughout the day. In still itching pretty badly but can no longer see the circles. My question is when is it ok to be intimate with my spouse again? He is avoiding me like the plaque from fear of getting ringworm himself. Do we have to wait a full month while I take the medication?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It takes few weeks for the fungal infection of the skin to clear after taking oral anti-fungal medication. I suggest you to consult your dermatologist for clinical assessment of the rash to ascertain if the rash is non-infectious.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
