Hello, I can understand your concern. As you have been through the surgery, swelling and pain in the operated area are expected as a post-operative consequence of any surgery. The are of sutures is also expected to be sore. I would advise you to continue the medicines prescribed and remain on soft diet till initial healing phase is achieved. It might take 7-10 days for the swelling to resolve completely and for the stitches area to heal and be less sore. There is nothing to worry about as long as the medications prescribed gives you relief from pain. However, if the bleeding starts from the surgical area, swelling increases immensely or if you develop fever, treating doctor should be seen. You can apply ice to the swollen area to feel better.
