How Long Does It Take To Recover From Otitis Externa?

I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM OTITIS EXTERNA SINCE FIVE DAYS AND HAVE NOW BEEN PRESCRIBED CEFACLOR CETRIZINE AND CANDIBIOTIC EAR DROPS HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETELY CURE AS I CANNOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM THE AFFECTED EAR AND FEEL VERY HEAVY AND IS BLOCKED

Hi dear ,

As per you query you have externa media and there is hearing loss along with heaviness in ear . Well your doctor has prescribed right medicine . It will approximately take around 10 days to get improve if you will take medicines regularly . I would suggest you to keep your ear dry ,which is very important water can make infection worse , give warm dry compresses to your external ear . If condition doesn't get better in 10 days then again consult your ENT specialist .
