How Long Does Propofol Stay In The System After Colonoscopy?
I had a colonoscopy last Monday. Propofol was used for sedation. Ever since the procedure I feel tired/exhuasted every day. I walk for excercise and I am finding it hard to do that and have to go very slow. How long can propofol stay in the system?
I have read your symptoms and i will answer at your answer.
The symptoms that you have don't correlate with the use of propofol for the colonoscopy. The half-life of elimination (amount of time that a medicine to lose half of its activity) of propofol has been estimated to be between 2 and 24 hours. But when used for IV sedation (in your case durind colonoscopy procedure), a single dose of propofol typically wears off within minutes.
With the symptoms that you have,it doesn't always mean that there is something serious. Even a flu can give you those symptoms.
I suggest you check up with your family doctor to do some tests like blood tests, function liver tests, urine test ect.
If you have any other question feel free to ask me.
