How Long Does Recovery Take After A Fistulotomy Surgery?

Hi, I recently had a fistulotomy done about 3 and a half weeks ago and it s almost done healing. There is this one little part where it is red and it s just pus that comes out. But when ever I have a bowel movement and wipe all I see is blood? Does it need more time to heal or is something wrong with it? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

After a fistula surgery it should heal withing 4 weeks time. However, if there is blood, then its a point of concern. Please visit your surgeon.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
