How Long Does The Body Take To Get Adjusted To New Dosage Of Synthyroid?

Thank you for your time, truly appreciate this!! I ve been on Synthroid 125 for 6ish years now and asymptomatic. Just had blood test and my levels were a bit low so my Dr. decreased to 112 for 3 months then repeat labs. I m very symptomatic now and he will not do anything about it other than refer me out. He s been in trouble in the past and I believe is too afraid to treat and explain thing to his pts. I m a very active nurse, working out daily and enjoying my work although these past 2 weeks have been a big change. Hoe long does it take to adjust to a new dose? Please advise ASAP, thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the body gets adjusted to new dose of Synthroid within couple of days and max of a week period. If there is persistent symptoms beyond this period, one has to consider auto immune response and panel of evaluation needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
