Hello
Cough , mucus or phlegm , irritated cough , feeling of something in throat , burning feeling in
esophagus all these symptoms are suggestive of "ASTHMATIC ALLERGIC BRONCHITIS".
While burning sensation in the esophagus is due to drugs and tension .
Drugs in few cases produces hyper acidity , hence burning sensation . Take some
antacid but if symptoms are severe then you may need drugs like
proton pump inhibitors like pantoloc- D once or twice in day.
Now main question about cough , with expectoration ( phlegm ), when such type of patient visit I usually advise them to take monteleukast+ bambuterol ( in combination ) tablets one or two time in day depending upon the nature of severity of disease.
Mite , dust , fine dusting , hay , fodder ,
smoking ( active or passive) , sudden fall & rise of temperature are predisposing factors of these symptoms , so if possible please take care about avoidance.
As you took
mucinex -dm , levaquine (
levofloxacin ) , these medicine not acted so need not to worry.
Do as I mentioned above but these drugs are prescription drugs , so please consult a physician and get his opinion.
Hot coffee also help because it causes bronchodilation , while
bronchoconstriction is the main cause of such symptoms.
Hope this information will help you.
