How Long Does Viral Infection Take To Alleviate?

I have had a low grade fever for 3 days, chest congestion and some sinus issues but not all the time. My sides hurt when I cough. I have been doing a nebulizer treatment for the last two days and Mucinex for 3 days. if this is a virus how long does it usually last. Should I go to the doctor?
