Up to how many days may fever persist with viral pharyngitis? There is a downward trend of the fever as of days 3-4 however my 6 year old is still running a mild fever in the evening. She appears to be feeling better however the fact that the fever is persisting even after the closure of day 5 is worrying me.
Hi. In children the fever can persist for 7 to 10 days. If there is fever only in the evening, get the blood checked for Malaria and typhoid and urine for infection. The viral fever reduces the body's resistance system so much that the other bacteria get active and then the patient can have a mixed infection. Continue with the medicines as your Doctor has advised for.. and he will change over the treatment if feels is required.
