How long do u think HIV aids blood lives outside the body? Is it possible to contract HIV if there is blood on counter I touch the blood with my fingers then put my fingers in my mouth not realizing 10 seconds ago there was someone bleeding on counter? I know it sounds silly but I work at the hospital and without thinking stuck my fingers in mouth. Now I m concerned a day later
Blood, if it is from a HIV individual, may be infectious till it gets dried completely throughout its core. Outside body it cannot withstand drying. But touching with bare hand and putting the finger in the mouth and all very rare possibility unless you are having some injury or abrasion on your finger or mouth. If there is nothing like that there is no chance. Even in case of injury on your finger the possibility is very remote. So don't worry.
Get it cleared with a rapid HIV test after 3 months.
Nothing to worry. Have a nice day.

Hi,
Thanks for query,
The blood you suck by your mouth does not transmit any type of infection to your body not even HIV.
HIV is transmitted through infected person’s blood, semen, vaginal fluid However tears, saliva, sweat or urine do not pose any danger.
As If this blood does not comes in contact with your blood.there is no need to worry.
Thanks.
