How Long It Will Take To Heal Neck Pain Due To Muscle Spasm?

Hi I have neck pain on the right side from trapezius to base of neck. No fever no vomiting. Pain has been present for 5 weeks now Had a consult in the first week was told its a muscle spasm and given NSAIDS myoril 4mg and ultracet Applied heat regularly, stretching, massage, also take whey protein. Sleep on a thin pillow keeping it length wise supporting upper back and neck. Completely stopped weight training. No significant improvement Need to know if this is some other cause and how long will it take to heal.
