How Long Post Treatment For Ear Infection Will Symptoms Of Low Appetite And Fatigue Last?
My son is 6 yrs old and came down wit flu like symptoms about 2 weeks ago. When I took him to his pediatrician she diagnosed him with ear infection in both ears and the adenovirus. He had fever, sore throat, poor appetite, diarhhrea, runny nose and cough. He started feeling better a few days ago but he still has no appetite and is lethargic. He has been taking 3 hr naps in the afternoon almost every day this week. Should I be concerned or can it take that long to get over this virus

Usually viral fever lasts for 5 to 7 days however exceptions are always there. If your son is not having any fever and his symptoms are improving, even if slowly, there is nothing to worry as he is on a path to recovery. If he develops fever or his symptoms remain the same or worsen then you should take him to your treating pediatrician.
Weakness, loss of appetite will resolve in a few days time. At times it takes even weeks for the child to recover fully. There is nothing to worry, just be patient and feed him healthy and nutritious diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and fluids. It will help him recover fast. An afternoon nap is fine and will help him to recover.
