How Long Should I Have Burning And Passing Some Blood Post TURP Procedure?
I just had TURP procedure performed at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and have just received a letter stating that there is a possibility that I could have contracted Pseudomonas aeruginosa due to potential exposure to contaminated equipment. I have some burning when urinating and I continue to pass blood in the urine, although it the urine is getting more clear now. My surgery was two weeks ago. Should I still be having burning and passing some blood this long after surgery?
You have undergone TURP 2 weeks back to resect Enlarged Prostate and now getting blood in urine and burning urination .
During TURP we resect the prostate gland .It is very common to get infection of the fossa (A space created after removing prostate) and bleeding from the raw surface of this fossa for 2-4 weeks .
Normally it gets resolved within a month after complete healing of the raw area .
You need to take appropriate antibiotic and drink more water so that the this raw area gets cleaned up and heals up fast .
