I was diognosed suffering from TB and blood Sugar. I am 72 yrs old I was give one injection of streptomycin daily for 90 days along with following medicines: Amaryl img i tablet daily Isokoksi 800 do Methycobal 500 Two tablets morning and evening Levomac 750 One Tablet daily Benadon 40 one tablet daily I am getting this treatment for the last 9 months which has made my very weak and my joins are becoming stiff COUGH IS ALMOST GONE FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. hOW LONG i SHOULD CONTINUE HAVING THESE MEDICINES.
The duration of TB treatment is decided by multiple factors including your response to treatment, Radiological evidence using X ray, Bacteriological evidence using sputum examination. After the sputum turns negative for TB bacteria the course of treatment is four to six months for respiratory tuberculosis. Getting weakness with current medication can be due to following factors 1. Side effect of Isokoksi 2. Partial response to TB medication
