How Long Should I Take Monteck Lc And Sereflo Inhaler For Sneezing?

sir, iam attacked by sneezing , chest tightness, breathlessnes round the year.after taking bath,and exposure to even if fan wind it becomes in greater intensity.now my esinofil level is around 6-7.doctor advised me to take monteck lc tablet.this tablet is used since 2 year.but till then some sputums like a wire comes out and leaving such medicine symptoms incress .i am also advised to take sereflo inhaller.so sir please advise me how long i take such treatment or any other treatment to control this?

Hello,

Thank you for asking at HCM.

I went through your history and would like to make suggestions to you as follows:

1. I would agree with your treatment at present - regular Montek-LC and Seroflo inhaler.

2. Regarding duration, as both the above medications "control" symptoms but do not treat the allergy itself. Hence one needs to take them as long as one experiences symptoms. Some patients with asthma may need to continue the medications lifelong.

3. To diagnose and treat allergy itself, I would suggest you allergy testing, especially for house dust mites, insect proteins, indoor molds, common pollens and pet dander (if you have pets).

This will help you identify the substances you may be allergic to as well as also to know the measures to avoid them.

4. Based on allergy testing, an Allergist-Immunologist may prescribe you allergen specific immunotherapy which works on immune system to gradually improve allergy symptoms. Once beneficial effects of immunotherapy are clearly seen, your medicines could be tapered gradually under doctor's guidance.
