How Long The Nerve That Runs In The Jaw Take To Heal The Swelling While The Lower Lip And Chin Are Numb?

I had my lower jaw moved forward on Monday Dec 9. Currently my lower lip and chin are numb due to the nerve the runs in the jaw/chin being messed with. my lip and chin are now feeling very cold even if I put heat on it. Do you know if this is a sign of healing? or how long should this last? The nerve was not cut just moved so I have a lot of swelling.

Hello,

Depending on the severity of trauma or inflammation, the jaw will heal gradually by its own.

Analgesics along with muscle relaxants and antibiotics has to be administered.

Apply intermittent hot and cold packs on the affected area.

Physiotherapy may be helpful.
Avoid stress as well as heavy loads on jaw.

Take care.
