How Long The Swelling And Pain In The Face Take To Come Down Caused In An Accident?

I hit my face on the steering wheel of my car in a wreck two nights ago. The hospital took X-rays and said nothing was broken but I have severe pain in my nose and around my eyes and trouble breathing. How long until this swelling starts healing up? And what should I do?
