hi! i m a 24 years old girl. i had an accident two days back and i fractured and cut my nose. my face is all swelled up and i have bruises under my eyes. can you pls. suggest some thing to reduce the swelleing and bruises? and also im alot worried about the cut mark on my nose. i want to know how long does it usually take to heal a nasal fracture and are there any re-comendations to heal quick?
It is quite common and is due to reactive edema seeping in to face. You have to get a CT head to look for the severity of the injury and to look for associated head injury. Most cases respond well with anti inflammatory drugs and compression dressing. You can apply ice packs for faster recovery. If there is any signs of infection, antibiotics must be started.
