Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Oblique and mildly spiral-appearing fractures in the mid-proximal diaphysis of ring finger metacarpal and mid diaphysis of little finger proximal phalanx. Very mild posterior displacement and apex dorsal angulation in the ring finger metacarpal fracture and slight distraction in the little finger proximal phalangeal fracture. No dislocation. Soft tissues grossly unremarkable. How long before I should get my splint off and be able to put pressure on my hand, such as biking?
Dear Sir, Any fracture under normal circumstances requires 3-4 weeks of immobilisation in a splint or a cast. After 4 weeks xray will be helpful in deciding whether further immobilisation is required or not.Hope this has helped you.
