How Long Will It Take To Subside The Swelling After Tetanus Shot?

my son age7 yrs, have been administered Tetanus toxoid shot yesterday. Today the injection site has been swollen and painful.
I have given ice fomentation and as prescribed paracetamol.
Is it harmful? How long will it take to reside? what else should i do?

Swelling after tetanus vaccination is common . Usually it takes 48 hours to resolve .Taking paracetamol 6- 8 hourly is usually sufficient to relieve pain and induration .
