How Long Will My Mother Survive?

my mother had a DVT last week and now has gangrene in her leg. They will not amputate as she has many other health issues, dementia, rheumatoid arthritis and AF; we have been told they cannot do anything but give her pain relief and let her die peacefully. How long will this take?

Very sorry to know about your mother's medical condition.

In such situation the length of survival depends on her heart function which is indicated clinically by her heart rate. As long as her heart is in between 60-110 nothing will happen till next 24 hours. Once heart rate goes out of this range she can collapse in next 24 hours.

The second parameter that determines her survival length is her urine output. If it between 20-30 ml per hour nothing shall happen but once it comes to 10ml or less per hour she will be having 24 hours left for her.

If you can tell me her heart rate blood pressure urine output and oxygen saturation i can tell you more precisely.
