How Much Does The Female Pattern Baldness Treatment Cost And How Long Does The Process Take ?

Hi there! I am a female and my age is 20 years. I lost noticeable hair around my partition line 2-3 years back and the hairs are not growing there much. I have changed partition lines from left to right and vice-versa but my hairs grow only a little thick. And yes, the other partition line becomes broad (hairs get thinner there). Today I was just searching the net for hair loss for females and I came across a lady who had baldness just like me. Is there a treatment for such a hair loss and what would be its approx. cost and duration? I didn t had any medication till now and I fear of losing more hairs. I am very tensed!

hI!,
welcome To HealthcareMagic forum,

There are various causes of hair loss in females and each has its own pattern also.By your description it seems to be a ludwigs pattern of hair loss (female pattern ) which is also called female androgenetic alopecia. In this females tend to loose hair from the central crown of the scalp ,but sparing the frontal hair line.
In such cases usually there is history of imbalance of periods, acne (pimples),weight gain & facial hair growth.
To confirm imbalance in hormones one can get a hormonal profile done with a ultrasound of lower abdomen.
One has little treatment left in such cases like minoxidil solution, oral hormonal medicines etc.
Ciproteron acetate medicines has shown good result in such cases ,but unfortunately the higher dose of this (50-100mg) is not available in India. We have a lower dose of same available in India. These are low dose OCPs which needs to be taken for long and the result may not be permanent .
The only permanent treatment in such cases is hair transplantation .I've been doing this for last 12 years with good result
I would advice you to consult a good dermatologist and start a treatment. If your medical treatment fails you can plan for hair transplantation ,but at this moment you are too young for it.
