How Much Vitamin D Supplement Can Be Taken For Osteopenia?
I recently had a test done at the V.A. and found out that I have Osteopenia. They tell me to take at least 1000 units of vitamin D a day .I have already been taking 2000 to 4000 units a day and I would like to know if adding another 1000 units a day be too much? I would also like to take a calcium supplement but have a history of kidney stones. So I wondered if it would be recommended that I take the calcium supplement or not?
Hello The dose you are taking for your VItamin D deficiency is perfect. Don't exceed it. There is no need to taking calcium supplements. As you might be at the risk of developing stones because there is a family history of it.
I would suggest you to take multivitamins and antioxidants. This will help you in maintaining your immunity.
I hope this helps you
