How Often Should Chest Xray Be Done To Check For Tb?
Hello, I am a 37 year old female physical therapist, I had a positive reaction on the TB skin test few years ago and wanted to ask how often should I have a chest xray to make sure I have no TB, as someone who works with Ptients on a regular basis. thank you!
If you had a chest X ray during screening which was normal then you need not get Chest X ray done unless you have any cough symptoms for more than 2 months with fever and unexplained weight loss, as far TB is concerned.
In TB patients with problems in chest X ray and taking treatment, repeat chest X ray is advised after at least 6 months to study any active TB and response to treatment.
If a patient of TB has complications then only on suggestion of doctor chest X ray may be repeated sooner than 6 months.
