Hello sir.i am a 23 year unmarried girl.i have portal vein thrombosis.it was dictated feb,2017.i have started taking acitrom from july,2017.on the 1st 10 days of july month i was taking enoxaparin injection, and after that my pt inr was 1.43 on14th july.then i started taking acitrom 3mg and on 22nd july pt inr was 2.51.but after 1week my pt inr was 5.4.but i never faced bleeding problem.afterthat my doctor reduced my dose to 1mg.now for higher study i have to go outside from my state and i will return after 1.5 months.so checking of pt inr after 1.5 month will affect my heath deeply?
Pt should be checked every week at least when on blood thinning drug as in your case. To be sure you will keep to be healthy with less chance for bleeding, I advise to check every week.
However, you can discuss this with your doctor, and ask to give you a recommendation letter for the any lab outside your state to run Pt and INR test.
